My Faith

MY FAITH is the most real part of who I am.  It permeates every part of my being, governs the choices I make and keeps me sane in this insane world.  If God never does another good thing for me, the cross was enough.  But because I made the decision to surrender my life to follow Jesus, I have a personal relationship with the Creator of the Universe, Himself!  It's an eternal relationship, lived out moment by moment, day by day.  And it has changed my life forever.  I have no fear of the future.  I'm not even afraid to die.  And when I must endure suffering (and I certainly have), His presence is my constant source of peace and joy, even in the pain.   My fear has been replaced with love, power and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).  It's this incredible work God has done in my life that brought me to this beautiful ministry of laughter and joy, all because of God's Amazing Love and Grace.  Do you know Him?  He is offering this abundant, eternal life to you too.  Jesus said, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." (John 10:10).  I invite you to have a personal relationship with God, made possible only through the life, death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ.

MY CHURCH FAMILY IS Redemption Church in Mobile, AL.  My husband and I were on the launch team for the second campus in West Mobile in 2016.  We continue to regularly attend and serve in several capacities there locally, as well as all over the nation, and around the world.  Redemption Church is a member of the  Southern Baptist Convention.  I have been a member of SBC churches my entire life.  To learn more about my very unusual childhood, and about the faith my parents instilled in me, check out my About Page.

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal parts of one God.

Genesis 1:1, Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 3:22, Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19, 1 Peter 1:2, 2 Corinthians 13:14

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the human race by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven and will return again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Matthew 1:22-23, Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1-5, John 14:10-30, Hebrews 4:14-15, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 1:3-4, Acts 1:9-11, 1 Timothy 6:14-15, Titus 2:13

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make individuals aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every believer from the moment of salvation, as our source of comfort, peace, joy, discernment, power over sin, and strength to live a victorious life. The Christian seeks to live under the Spirit’s control each day.

2 Corinthians 3:17, John 16:7-13, John 14:16-17, Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 2:12, 1 Corinthians 3:16, Ephesians 1:13, Galatians 5:25, Ephesians 5:18

The Bible is God's Word to all people. It is without error or fallacy. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the ultimate source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.

2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21, 2 Timothy 1:13, Psalm 119:105, Psalm 119:160, Psalm 12:6, Proverbs 30:5

Mankind is made in the image of God as the supreme object of God's creation. God designed humans to have fellowship with him, but humans became alienated from God through sin. We're incapable of living in a right relationship with God through our own efforts.

Genesis 1:27, Psalm 8:3-6, Isaiah 53:6, Romans 3:23, Colossians 1:21, Isaiah 59:1-2

Men and women were created to exist forever. We believe forever is spent in one of two places, heaven or hell. Hell is a real place, where men and women are eternally separated from God because of sin. Heaven is where Christians spend eternity in perfect union with God because of His forgiveness and salvation. When you die, you will either spend eternity in heaven or hell.

John 3:16, 1 John 2:25, John 5:11-13, Romans 6:23, Revelation 20:15

Salvation is God's gift but it has to be accepted. We can never make up for our sin with self-improvement or good works. It is only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness that you can be saved from sin's penalty.

Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 14:6, John 1:12, Titus 3:5, Galatians 3:26, Romans 5:1

Because God gives eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and eternal power of God that gives this security.

John 10:29, 2 Timothy 1:12, Hebrews 7:25, Hebrews 10:10-14, 1 Peter 1:3-5
